Oktoberfest Diary 2025: Highlights and traditional dates

It only takes a few days after one Oktoberfest ends for the excitement to start building around next year’s festivities. We have put together an overview of the most important dates for both experienced regulars and Oktoberfest greenhorns. Don’t miss any of the top events at Munich’s Oktoberfest 2025:

Saturday 20.09. 12 pm Schottenhamel Opening ceremony with the official tapping of the cask by Munich’s Lord Mayor in the Schottenhamel tent
Sunday 21.09. 10 am Theresienwiese Joint procession of the traditional dress and marksmen clubs (around 9,000 marksmen club members walk through the festival grounds)
Sunday 21.09. All day Festhalle Pschorr-Bräurosl The legendary Gay Sunday event takes place on every first Sunday in the Pschorr-Bräurosl tent.
Tuesday 23.09. 12 pm to 7 pm Theresienwiese The first kid’s and family day (of two during the festival) with lower ride, admission and snack prices
Saturday 27.09. All day Theresienwiese The legendary “Italian weekend” begins on this Saturday
Sunday 27.09. 11 am In front of the Bavaria statue A free music concert for all visitors
Monday 29.09. 6 pm Fischer-Vroni The “Prosecco-Wiesn” in the Fischer-Vroni tent is a popular meeting place for the LGBT community
Tuesday 30.09. All day Theresienwiese Second kid’s and family day with lower ride, admission and snack prices
