If you are interested in making a reservation in the Schottenhamel Festhalle in Munich, you can be part of a very special spectacle in the beer tent on the first day of the Oktoberfest: the tapping. Munich’s Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter taps the first barrelat 12 noon sharp and shouts “O’zapft is!“, only then are the other tents allowed to serve their festival beer. If you reserve a table in the Schottenhamel beer tent, you will be surrounded by the young Oktoberfest crowd. The beer tent, which serves around 10,000 guests, is the meeting place for young people to party and drink at the Munich Oktoberfest every year. What is definitely not missing here are good-humored Wiesn visitors who like to flirt. Of course, this is all the easier with a fresh pint of beer from the Spaten Franziskaner brewery while toasting with your table neighbors!
