O‘ZAPFT IS:YOUR TABLE RESERVATION IN THE FESTHALLE SCHOTTENHAMEL
General information about the Schottenhamel
Go for a reservation in the Festhalle Schottenhamel if you want to be there for the tapping of the first cask on the opening day of the Oktoberfest! At this special opening event, Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter taps the first cask on the stroke of noon and calls out “O’zapft is!” (“it’s tapped!”), signaling the moment for all other tents to start serving their beer.
If you reserve a table in the Schottenhamel Festzelt, you will most likely be surrounded by young Oktoberfest visitors. This beer tent, which can serve roughly 10,000 guests, is the first port of call every year for young people visiting this famous festival in Munich. Expect upbeat young adults in the mood for good music, fun and flirts. You certainly won’t have to worry about breaking the ice to toast with your neighboring table here! So raise your glass and make for the Schottenhamel Festzelt at the Oktoberfest!
